All bachelor’s programmes at UMEF are strictly compatible with the Bologna Process and are thus an ECTS (European Credit Transfer System), with a minimum duration of 3 years (i.e. 6 semesters) and maximum duration of 5 years on condition of acceptance by the management. To graduate, students need to have acquired 180 ECTS credits through courses and either an internship or a dissertation. Thus, students will be easily mobile among other campuses or institutions. UMEF has two enrolments per year, in October and March. But it should be noted that UMEF has the right to modify the precise dates. To be admitted to the programme, candidates must have obtained an end of secondary school certificates, such as a Swiss maturity, French baccalaureate, British A-levels, or other diplomas judged to be equivalent.

Bachelor of Computer Science

Bachelor in information technology (BIT) which covers the following fields:

  • A basic introduction to information technology

  • Algorithmics

  • Software engineering

  • Treatment of multimedia information

  • IT systems

  • Security

  • Digital imagery

  • Theoretical computer science

This innovative programme allows participants to analyse the basic elements of information technology with a healthy and dynamic equilibrium between theory and practice.

Objective of the course:

Develop the capacity of the students to acquire the know-how and the well-being in the branches of information technology through a pedagogy based on the active participation of students to the learning process.

In this programme, our professors and visiting lecturers put forward the various pedagogical methods, that is: case studies, debates on contemporary subjects, seminars, presentations, research, group assignments, individual assignments and various other methods.

The practical exercises whether individual and group allow participants to become familiar with the most recent techniques, languages and information technology tools and to exchange with the other participants.

Employment opportunities:

This programme gives students the required know-how to be hired in managerial positions in public and private sectors: manager of the IT department, manager in charge of a web project, network administrator, manager in charge of security, site conceptor, IT technician and software engineer.
