Bachelor Programmes

All bachelor’s programmes at UMEF are strictly compatible with the Bologna Process and are thus an ECTS (European Credit Transfer System), with a minimum duration of 3 years (i.e. 6 semesters) and maximum duration of 5 years on condition of acceptance by the management. To graduate, students need to have acquired 180 ECTS credits through courses and either an internship or a dissertation. Thus, students will be easily mobile among other campuses or institutions. UMEF has two enrolments per year, in October and March. But it should be noted that UMEF has the right to modify the precise dates. To be admitted to the programme, candidates must have obtained an end of secondary school certificates, such as a Swiss maturity, French baccalaureate, British A levels, or other diplomas judged to be equivalent.

Bachelor of Business Administration

General description:

The Bachelor of Business Administration programme (BBA) covers the areas of management and corporate strategy, business organization, accounting, financial analysis, micro and macroeconomics and finance.

Training objectives:

Develop the student’s ability to acquire knowledge and know-how in the disciplines of management sciences, by a pedagogy based on the active participation of the students in their training.

Opportunities:

This programme gives students the essential skills required to accede to posts of responsibility in the public and private sectors.

Internship:

The internship included in your programme will give you practical experience and the opportunity to apply in the real working world knowledge acquired in class. Overall Programme Requirements: 180 European Credits (ECTS) equivalent of 120 U.S credits.

General description:

The Bachelor of Tourism and Hotel Management programme imbues the student with the techniques of hotel management including a good commercial and tourism culture. The use of languages especially English is an important aspect of the training.

The programme has been designed to train tourism professionals capable of managing the tourism phenomenon and the various companies related thereto.

Opportunities:

Management positions in luxury hotels, tour operators, communication or consulting firms, Shops and touristic sites.

Internship:

The programmes of Bachelor of Science in Finance (BSc Finance) covers the area of management, accounting organization, financial analysis and corporate and market finance. This specialized training will review financial decision-making, risk management and financial market behaviour.

Training objectives:

Learn the fundamentals of the financial theory and the basic concepts necessary to understand the financial stakes of a company or organization.

Opportunities:

The programme prepares for various careers, including going beyond the business world. What does ‘going beyond the business world’ mean? Among the possible choices, there are career possibilities in the financial sector, trading on stock markets as well as the financial control of a company. The Bachelor’s programme in International Business covers the area of general management, strategic management for business, micro and macroeconomics, the complex international environment in which businesses operate, and the impact of this environment on the business world and the economy. The use of languages and particularly English is an important component in the training.

Training objectives:

The programme has been designed such that the student should be capable of understanding the basics of international business management, and acquire the required tools to analyse the impact of culture, physical environment, technology, institutions and government on the internalization of business.

Opportunities:
